When setting up a Kanban board in the collection view, it's important to configure the settings correctly to ensure a smooth and intuitive user experience.
The first step in configuring a Kanban board is to define which table the Kanban layout will use and how the items will be grouped.
In the Table field, choose table linked with the view.
In the Grouping Column field, choose a column that logically groups items into categories or stages (e.g., Status, Stage, Priority).
Ensure that the grouping column has distinct, well-defined values to clearly differentiate between Kanban columns. Use a column type that supports grouping, such as a Checkbox or Single Select.
The title should serve as the main identifier for each item. Choose a column that gives a clear understanding of what the item represents.
Ensure that the title is short and readable within the space provided on the Kanban card.
Use the subtitle to provide supplementary information about the item, such as deadlines, assigned users, or brief descriptions.
Ensure the subtitle is relevant and enhances the understanding of the item without cluttering the card.
If the items have associated images (e.g., product images, avatars, icons), use the Photo URL setting to display these on the Kanban cards.
Verify that the URLs are correct and accessible, ensuring that images load properly.
For this field, you can also choose the column with type Photos of the Alloy table where contains the photos.
