Introduction

The Line Chart in AppAlloy is a versatile visualization tool used to display trends and changes over time.

By connecting individual data points with a continuous line, it helps users observe patterns, fluctuations, and trends in their data.

This chart is particularly useful for tracking progress, forecasting, and comparing multiple data series over a period.

Suitable Use Cases:

  • Sales Tracking: Monitor sales figures over time to identify trends, seasonal variations, and growth opportunities.

  • Customer Growth: Analyze the increase or decrease in the number of new customers over the past months or years.

  • Performance Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and their changes over time for better decision-making.

  • Project Timelines: Visualize project milestones and their progress to ensure timely completion.

Settings

Data

In this field, you define the source and specifics of the data used for the chart.

Tailor the data source and criteria to reflect the exact information you want to visualize, ensuring that the chart accurately represents the relevant data.

Style

Customize the appearance of the chart by selecting colors and deciding whether to display a legend as the explanation for each data part in the chart.

  • Color: Choose colors for the donut segments to differentiate between categories or to align with your branding.

  • Checkbox Legend: Decide whether to include a explanation below the chart that helps users identify what kind of data is shown on the chart

X Axis

Configure the horizontal axis to represent time or categories.

  • Axis Name: Label the axis to indicate what it represents, such as "Months" or "Dates."

  • Axis Line Checkbox: Choose whether to display a line along the axis for better clarity.

  • Axis Grid Line Checkbox: Decide whether to include grid lines for easier reading of values.

Y Axis

Set up the vertical axis to display the value or measurement.

  • Axis Name: Label the axis to specify what the values represent, such as "Number of Customers" or "Sales Amount."

  • Value Format: Choose how to format the values, such as Number, Currency, or Fraction.

  • Value Label Prefix: Add a text before the value in the value label, such as "$" for currency.

  • Value Label Suffix: Add a text after the value in the value label, such as "%" for percentages.

  • Axis Line Checkbox: Decide whether to display a line along the axis.

  • Axis Grid Line Checkbox: Choose whether to include grid lines to aid in reading values.

Series

Define the visualization of the value label on each value point of the line, including its format and labeling.

  • Value Format: Choose the format for the values, such as Number, Currency, or Fraction.

  • Value Label Prefix: Add a text before the value in the value label, if necessary.

  • Value Label Suffix: Add a text after the value in the value label, if necessary.
